Wow, this is so beautiful. I truly felt transported into the holloways and stood amongst the ancient yews. I love the idea of the hollow-ways and had only heard about them in Robert Macfarlane's book "Holloway". Keep up the beautiful, informative writing!
Thanks so much for your lovely remarks Koreen! On this particular walk I did try to record the wind, (which was surprisingly blustery.) I've tried on numerous occasions to capture the sound of the trees talking to me, but it never quite comes out right. There's something a little eerie and very magical about being out in the middle of nowhere with only the sound of Nature to accompany you. I'd love to do this walk at night, but don't dare! I must check out this book as that title is new to me. I only know them as Holloways as that's what my grandad called them when I used to walk the lanes with him as a child. I appreciate the recommendation!
